Teaching-A
Personal View

"In my view Tae Kwon-Do should be taught in a way that makes it available to as many different people and ages as possible. I teach twelve to fourteen classes a week: children, ladies only, mixed adults, University students and one to one private classes. It
is important to me that each new member that comes into one of
my classes feels right from the start they are entering a friendly,
disciplined and safe environment in which they will learn the
martial art. Although I take all my classes personally, I do have
a team of very experienced black-belts who act as a welcoming
committee to new members and are ready to answer questions and
put people at their ease. |
|
I want students to enjoy the lesson and feel confident about how they are being taught. I work to keep my students motivated by varying their training, different lessons will either be focused on or be a combination of: studying the grading syllabus, awareness and self-defence, stretching and strengthening exercises, competition skills, circuit training and bag work." |

Achievements | |||||||
Graded to 1st Dan by Master Rhee Ki Ha, 9th Dan (who was responsible for introducing Tae Kwon-Do into Great Britain in 1967), in the U.K.T.A. I was then with the T.A.G.B. for ten years and refereed at their two World Championships. I also competed as a coloured and black belt, successfully coming out of retirement to compete in the Ulster Championships with the G.T.I. National Squad winning my fight, which helped the team to 1st place in 1997. I was one of G.T.I's founder instructors, when it developed from a London-South East based Association into a Nationwide one. | |||||||
